The Mechanical Hydraulic Disconnect is a dual-action two-piece emergency release tool for coiled tubing downhole service, composed of upper and lower subs connected by brass shear screws. It supports two independent release modes to solve stuck coiled tubing tool string problems under different construction conditions: Mode 1 (Pure Tension Release): Apply upward overpull tension exceeding the preset shear load of brass shear screws to cut off pins and separate upper/lower assemblies. Mode 2 (Hydraulic Assist Release): The lower sub is equipped with a built-in ball seat piston mechanism. Deliver a drop ball to sit on the piston, pressurize inside the coiled tubing to generate back hydraulic pressure, which assists in shearing the brass shear screws and greatly reduces the overpull tension required for separation.
