The Wireline Grab is a multi-flexible-prong integral solid monolithic wireline salvage retrieval fishing grab specially developed for coiled tubing downhole workover salvage operations of recovering lost or broken wireline and logging cable assemblies.

This wireline fishing grab adopts an advanced one-piece integral solid monolithic structural design, eliminating split assembly seams and intermediate connecting parts, with outstanding overall structural rigidity and tensile load resistance, capable of enduring repeated upward pulling loads and downhole impact loads during wireline salvage fishing construction, resistant to long-term completion fluid and formation circulating fluid erosion. Two optional internal flexible prong quantity configurations are provided to adapt to variable downhole wireline loop dimension and fishing position conditions: 2 flexible prongs and 3 flexible prongs. Each flexible prong extends straight downward from the main body of the grab, multiple groups of sharp reverse barbs are welded onto the inner wall surface of every flexible prong to form internal catching hook structures; when the grab contacts the looped end of broken downhole wireline or logging cable during running-in operation, upward pulling load applied on coiled tubing string will drive all flexible prongs to close inward synchronously, the inner reverse barbs can reliably hook and lock the wireline loop, effectively preventing wireline slipping off during subsequent high-tension upward pulling fishing process.

The Wireline Grab has no complex internal movable friction components, spring energy storage assemblies or differential pressure release mechanisms, with extremely simplified wellsite operation flow and low maintenance cost; construction crews only need to run the wireline grab down to contact the looped end of broken wireline/cable and apply upward pull load to make flexible prongs close inward and complete wireline loop locking and salvage grabbing work, without additional auxiliary operation steps such as drop ball delivery or shear pin impact jarring.
