Storm Wash Tool

Downhole Tool

Product Overview

The Storm Wash Tool is a turbine-driven high-speed rotary jet dedicated downhole cleaning tool developed for coiled tubing well intervention operations, mainly applied to inner wall descaling, paraffin removal and sediment flushing of production tubing and casing.

This wash tool adopts an internal built-in turbine structural design. When high-pressure fluid is pumped downhole and flows through the turbine assembly, the fluid impacts the turbine blades to generate powerful rotary driving force. The fluid is then concentrated and ejected through a single bottom orifice to form high-speed spiral rotating jet flow. The high-velocity swirling jet thoroughly scours all positions on tubing and casing inner walls, delivering excellent full-coverage descaling and cleaning treatment effect.

The tool is equipped with interchangeable anti-corrosion wear-resistant jet nozzles, and the inner flow size of nozzles can be freely adjusted and replaced according to different wellbore pressure and descaling intensity construction demands. The integral heavy-duty turbine structure ensures stable and reliable high-speed rotary jet working performance during long-term continuous downhole cleaning operations.

Two complete service grades are supplied to adapt diverse reservoir environments: STD standard grade for conventional sweet oil wells without hydrogen sulfide corrosive media; H₂S sour service grade manufactured with sulfur-resistant alloy to adapt high-H₂S corrosive sour gas well downhole working conditions.

The standardized product lineup covers outer diameter sizes ranging from 1-1/2" to 3-1/8", with matched compact overall make-up length specifications, equipped with standard 1" AMMT and 2-3/8" PAC bottom connection threads for universal compatibility with mainstream coiled tubing connectors and wellbore descaling downhole service tools. Custom outer diameter, jet nozzle inner flow size and anti-sulfur passivation coatings are available upon customer technical drawing submission.

Core Features & Advantages

Built-In Internal Turbine Rotary Drive Design: High-pressure downhole fluid impacts the internal turbine assembly to generate powerful rotary driving force, forming continuous high-speed spiral rotating jet flow at the bottom single orifice, realizing dead-zone-free all-round scouring on tubing and casing inner walls for efficient descaling.

Interchangeable Adjustable-Size Jet Nozzle Structure: Multiple specifications of jet nozzles with different inner flow sizes are optional, no need to replace the whole tool body; operators can quickly swap nozzles to adjust jet flow rate and jet impact force to match different wellbore construction requirements.

High Wear & Corrosion Resistant Nozzle Configuration: The jet nozzles are manufactured from high-strength anti-corrosion alloy materials, featuring outstanding erosion resistance against high-speed sand-laden jet fluid and strong resistance to weak acid and corrosive formation fluid, extending long-term nozzle service life.

Robust Heavy-Duty Turbine Construction: The turbine rotor, blades and internal flow channel components adopt optimized thickened high-strength alloy structural design, resisting long-term impact and abrasion of high-pressure circulating fluid to maintain stable high-speed rotary jet working performance.

Dual Working Condition Grade Configuration: STD standard version applies to conventional sweet oilfield non-corrosive working environments; H₂S sour service version adopts sulfur-resistant alloy base material and professional anti-sulfur passivation coating to resist hydrogen sulfide corrosion in harsh sour gas well conditions.

Full Outer Diameter Size Compatibility: Standard product series covers 1-1/2", 1-11/16", 2-1/8", 2-7/8" and 3-1/8" outer diameter specifications, fully compatible with global mainstream medium-size coiled tubing assemblies for all tubing and casing descaling intervention demands.

Compact Short Make-Up Length Design: Optimized integral compact structural design shortens overall tool length, reducing the total length of coiled tubing tool strings and minimizing downhole tubing drag resistance during tripping operations.

Precision CNC High-Strength Alloy Manufacturing: Adopts precision CNC machining integral tool body and internal turbine components, featuring outstanding high-pressure jet abrasion resistance, erosion resistance and structural stability, extending long-term continuous downhole high-speed rotary jet descaling service life.

FAQ

Q1: What is the core function of a Storm Wash Tool?
The Storm Wash Tool is a turbine-powered high-speed rotary jet coiled tubing descaling sub. An internal turbine is driven by pumped high-pressure fluid, generating powerful rotation to form concentrated high-velocity spiral jet flow through the single bottom orifice. The swirling jet thoroughly cleans tubing and casing inner walls for descaling and sediment flushing; interchangeable wear-resistant nozzles allow adjustable jet flow rates to fit different well treatment demands.

Q2: What three core structural advantages does this storm wash tool own?
1. Built-in internal turbine driving structure, high-pressure fluid generates stable powerful rotary force to form continuous high-speed spiral jet flow, achieving full-coverage dead-zone-free well wall scouring; 2. Interchangeable multi-specification jet nozzle design, no need to replace the whole tool body, quickly swap nozzles to adjust jet impact strength and flow volume for different construction requirements; 3. Heavy-duty robust turbine assembly construction, resisting long-term high-pressure fluid impact and abrasion to maintain consistent stable high-speed rotary jet working performance.

Q3: What outer diameter sizes do these storm wash tools support?
Our standard production lineup fully covers outer diameters: 1-1/2", 1-11/16", 2-1/8", 2-7/8" and 3-1/8". All models adopt universal 1" AMMT and 2-3/8" PAC bottom connection threads compatible with global mainstream coiled tubing connector assemblies.

Q4: What is the difference between STD standard grade and H₂S sour service grade?
STD standard grade is manufactured for conventional sweet oil wells without hydrogen sulfide corrosive fluid. H₂S sour service grade adopts sulfur-resistant alloy substrate and special anti-sulfur passivation coating to resist chemical corrosion in high-H₂S sour gas well environments.

Q5: What is the standard production lead time for bulk purchase orders?
All standard PN part numbers are kept in factory inventory, goods can be delivered within 7–15 working days. Customized storm wash tools with special outer diameters or custom jet nozzle flow sizes require 20–35 working days production cycle, subject to total order quantity.
