Our bi-directional hydraulic jar delivers both upward and downward impact force for downhole fishing, stuck pipe recovery and well intervention operations. It contains separate hydraulic chambers for upward and downward jarring strokes; operators first apply set-down weight or pick-up tension to charge the corresponding hydraulic chamber, then the tool releases suddenly after a predetermined delay to generate powerful impact in the desired direction, providing full bidirectional jarring capacity without rotating or manipulating the string direction. This design eliminates the need for separate upward and downward jars in the bottom hole assembly, significantly reducing BHA length and complexity. High-strength alloy steel construction with hardened internal components ensures reliable performance after repeated jarring cycles. Multi-layer dynamic sealing isolates clean hydraulic oil from wellbore fluids. Sour-grade material options complying with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 standards are available for H₂S and CO₂ corrosive well environments.

Note: Custom impact force, delay time, thread types and material grades available upon request.
Q: How does the bi-directional jar switch between up and down jarring modes?
A: Simply by applying tension for upward jarring or set-down weight for downward jarring. The tool automatically engages the corresponding hydraulic chamber without any string rotation.
Q: Can the jarring impact force be adjusted?
A: Yes, the impact intensity can be adjusted by varying the surface pull load or set-down weight. The delay time can also be field adjusted.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: Standard tool OD ranges from 1.687" to 2.875". Custom sizes and thread connections are available upon request.
Q: Is a sour service version available?
A: Yes, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 compliant material options are available for H₂S service.
