Composite Connector | Combined Dimple & External Slip Coiled Tubing Connector

Downhole Tool

Product Overview

Our Composite Connector is an innovative downhole coupling that merges the proven structure of dimple connectors and external slip connectors into one unified assembly. Operators first form dimples on coiled tubing via standard crimping equipment, then engage the external slip assembly to create dual mechanical locking. This dual-lock design delivers far stronger tensile and torque transfer performance than single-structure connectors, making it ideal for demanding coiled tubing drilling, milling, fishing and heavy pulling operations. Precision-machined forged alloy steel body incorporates multi-port hydraulic inspection channels and independent seal cavities. The dual locking system distributes operational stress across both dimpling indentations and hardened slip teeth, greatly lowering connection failure risk under sustained torsion, jarring and heavy tension. Replaceable slip components, robust multi-ring sealing and optional sour-grade metallurgy allow reliable deployment across conventional wells, high-pressure wells and H₂S corrosive well conditions.

Core Features & Benefits

  • Dual locking mechanism combining dimple fixation + external slip clamping for maximum connection security
  • Superior tensile and bidirectional torque transmission outperforms standalone dimple or slip connectors
  • Distributed load bearing reduces fatigue damage to coiled tubing and extends service life of both tubing and connector
  • Built-in hydraulic test ports for quick independent sealing verification before running downhole
  • Multi-ring elastomer sealing system for stable high-pressure fluid isolation
  • Hardened, field-replaceable slip inserts to cut long-term maintenance expenses
  • Forged alloy main body with premium heat treatment for strong wear and impact resistance
  • H₂S resistant material configurations available for sour well intervention projects
  • Interchangeable AMMT / PAC / REG thread subs to match common bottom hole assembly connections
  • Full size customization for 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2" coiled tubing

FAQ

Q: How does this composite connector install on coiled tubing?
A: First create standard dimples on tubing outer wall with dedicated dimple pressing tools, then mount the external slip assembly and tighten threaded components to complete dual locking installation. Standard field tool sets are sufficient for assembly.

Q: What operational scenarios make this composite connector a better choice than regular connectors?
A: It is recommended for high torque milling, heavy fishing, deep horizontal well operations where conventional single-structure connectors face higher slip or breakage risk. The dual locking design delivers far higher safety margin.

Q: Can you manufacture sour service versions compliant with NACE standards?
A: Yes, we supply NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 certified sour variants, full material test certificates will be provided alongside product delivery for export clearance.

Q: What is your production lead time?
A: In-stock standard models ship within 3–7 working days; fully customized composite connectors require 15–25 working days depending on order quantity and machining requirements.
